3. When do classes meet for the Week-block MBA program?

Classes are held each year during the months of May and August. They begin on a Saturday and run for the week through to the following Sunday. Class times are daily 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., except for the last day (Sunday) during which class meets from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Breakfast, lunch, and breaks are provided daily.

4. Where do classes meet?

Classes meet in the Rawls College of Business, 15th Street and Flint Avenue (Flint Ave. is between University Ave. and Indiana Ave.). The business building is 12 stories tall and is easy to see. A parking lot is located on the east side of the business building; it is open to the public on weekends only. Classes are held in the basement of the college (usually in BA 053, BA 054, or BA 055).

5. When and where are meals served?

For the programs held on weekends, on Saturdays lunch is served from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. in the big round building on the first floor (the “Rotunda”) that is connected to the north side of the Rawls College building. On Sundays, breakfast is served from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. in the Rotunda.

6. What do I need to bring with me to class?

Bring something to write with and something to take notes on. We will let you know if you need to bring a notebook computer with you to class (i.e., some classes require that you bring a computer while others do not). We also recommend that you bring along something to carry the books you will receive back home with you.

7. What should I wear to class?

Everyone usually dresses in comfortable and casual clothes for class. However, you may want to bring a sweater or coat if you get cold easily (usually 70% of the class likes the room temperature, 15% of the class is too warm, and 15% of the class is too cold).

8. Is it all right to leave class early to catch a flight home?

Yes, it is fine to leave early since we videotape all of the class lectures. However, it would be great if you could let the professors know that you need to leave class early.

FINANCIAL AID

1. Can I get financial aid?

Yes, financial aid is available for the Working Professional MBA students, as well as for students in the MBA for Physicians and Dentists.

2. Where can I go to get information about financial aid?

Information about applying can be found at http://www.financialaid.ttu.edu/applying.aspx . If you have additional questions about financial aid, contact Yvonne Harwood, Assistant Director at yvonne.harwood@ttu.edu, 806-742-0454 ext. 263.

3. I have been awarded financial aid. Will my award go directly to the Rawls College for my program fees?

No, the total amount of the financial aid award will be refunded directly to you. The Rawls College does not receive any of that money. You will need to pay the Rawls College for the full amount of the program fees.

4. How will I receive my financial aid funds?

Texas Tech disburses financial aid awards through the Higher One card, which students receive when they are enrolled in the university. The Higher One card serves many purposes (e.g., ATM card on and off campus; campus debit card; debit MasterCard, etc.). Once you receive and activate your card, you will need to instruct Higher One how you want to receive your refund (e.g., by leaving the funds on the card, or by depositing funds into another checking account).

5. Can I pay my Rawls College program fees with the Higher One card?

Yes, we can charge your fees on that card. The Higher One card normally has a credit transaction limit of $2,500 per day. If the amount you owe the Rawls College is greater than that limit, you can contact Higher One to request they raise your limit for such purpose.

COURSE INFORMATION

1. How do I enroll in classes?

This is taken care of for you. The Rawls College Graduate Services Center will enroll you in the appropriate courses each semester.

2. How can I find out my grades?

Grades are available via the Raiderlink portal (http://www.raiderlink.ttu.edu) . You will need to enter your eRaider account username and password. Once you are in Raiderlink, go to the MyTech page, and click on “Academic Transcripts” under Student Services.

3. What’s an “eRaider” account?

One of the primary functions of the eRaider account is to allow you to manage your TTU email account. In addition, the eRaider website allows you to download software, change your online information, set up a personal website, and sign up for remote access. Your eRaider username is necessary to access important information on Raiderlink.

4. How do I get an eRaider account?

You should have received your eRaider username and an activation code in the packet you received from Graduate Admissions. Go to http://www.eraider.ttu.edu/ and click “Activate Account” and follow the instructions. You will need your eRaider username and the activation code. You will have the opportunity to choose your own password during the activation process. If you need assistance, contact IT Help Central at 806-742-HELP.

5. What if I have completed all of the assignments for a course and still have a grade of incomplete on my record?

Contact the professor for the course since some professors may be slow to turn in grade change forms. Please also note that we check everyone's transcripts a couple of months before graduation in order to make sure that all professors have turned in grade change forms.
